WWE Champion Bobby Lashley has challenged longtime contender Brock Lesnar for both MMA and WWE in the near future.
Lashley recently won the WWE championship when he defeated Miz on an episode of Raw, becoming the third African American wrestler to win the most prestigious WWE title. Lashley, now 44, is one of the best wrestlers in the WWE world, but he is also an accomplished MMA fighter with an overall record of 15-2 in mixed martial arts. In fact, Bobby Lashley has won his last eight straight fights, including five stoppage wins at Bellator, although he hasn’t entered an MMA cage since 2016.
Speaking to TMZ Sports, Lashley said he is open to fighting in MMA again and the only person he has his eye on is Lesnar, the former UFC heavyweight champion. Both Lesnar and Lashley have been linked to each other many times in the past, but have not met yet. Bobby Lashley, however, hopes that something might happen soon. In fact, Lashley is not only willing to fight Lesnar in WWE, but he is ready to challenge him in an MMA fight.
“I can only control what I can control, but I’m ready to fight, I’m ready to fight, I’m ready to make a leap. I do not care. I love big matches. Brock is one of the main figures in the sports industry, throughout the sports world. So if I have the opportunity to fight Brock, or do something with Brock, and I’ll be ready for him, ”Lashley said.
After texting longtime Lesnar manager Paul Heyman, Lashley said that the fact that he is now a WWE champion means Lesnar has more reason to fight him now.
“Paul, call me. Before, you guys always said that I had nothing and he had no reason to stalk me. Now I have the title, ” Bobby Lashley said.
