As implied by his moniker, ‘The Problem Child,’ Jake Paul cannot keep his name out of trouble. Paul was recently confronted by boxing legend Floyd Mayweather Jr. and his large entourage.
Mayweather and Paul ran into each other in Miami after the recently concluded game between Miami Heat and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Mayweather and his team accosted Paul, who had his winning streak shattered by Tommy Fury last month.
From the looks of it, Mayweather confronted Paul, who was seemingly only protected by a security guard. Mayweather’s teammates questioned Paul’s silence following his loss to Fury. Paul apparently fled the scene as the tension rose and Mayweather’s crew looked to rush him. Security rushed to defuse the situation before it erupted further. The news was first reported by TMZ Sports.

According to reports, sources close to Floyd Mayweather revealed that the undefeated boxer was enraged by Paul, who allegedly made fun of Mayweather’s deceased family member. Sources confirmed that Mayweather’s fury did not stem from the infamous altercation that occurred when Paul snatched his cap:
“Jake crossed the line. This wasn’t about grabbing a hat. This was about Jake’s comments to Floyd about Floyd’s deceased family member and other below-the-belt inappropriate behavior.” [via TMZ Sports]
Jake Paul took to Twitter to react to the situation and issue a one-on-one challenge to Mayweather:
“Floyd if you want to fight 1 on 1 we can do that but don’t try to hop out of 3 cars 25 dudes deep trying to jump me while I’m trying to enjoy my Wednesday night”
When Jake Paul claimed that Floyd Mayweather tried to get him killed
Jake Paul and Floyd Mayweather were involved in a violent brawl at the press conference for the boxing legend’s exhibition bout against older brother Logan. During the melee, Paul stole Mayweather’s hat, which enraged the undefeated boxer.
The incident led to the notorious “gotcha hat” line. Mayweather’s team furiously charged at Jake Paul. Paul believes Mayweather’s desire to hurt him was genuine and not premeditated.
Jake Paul revealed that Mayweather had sought to have him allegedly “killed” for his actions on an edition of the Full Send Podcast:
“He was trying to get me killed behind the scenes for sure. He was calling like gangsters because we were in Miami here at the time. He was, like, calling the street people because my security is tapped into the street people. And they were like, ‘Yo, you guys gotta be f***ing careful, he’s trying to do something.”
