UFC Hall of Fame Chuck Liddell said he was ready to take on the YouTuber-turned boxer Jake Paul, saying, “I’m ready anytime for this clown.”
Liddell responded to a fan who suggested that either Liddell, UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya, or former UFC Lightweight Champion Khabib Nurmagomedov should take on Paul, who has quickly become one of the biggest names in fighting sports. Turning to their social media to respond, “The Iceman” said he would be happy to fight Paul.

Liddell (21-9) is by far one of the greatest MMA fighters of all time and through the UFC Hall of Fame. However, he is now 51 years old and the last time we saw Liddell enter the cage in 2018 was knocked out by Tito Ortiz in their trilogy. Going back to 2008, Liddell’s last four fights saw him get knocked out and his last win came in 2007 when he beat Wanderlei Silva by decision. Such a great fighter Liddell once was, at his age and given the strength of his chin at this stage of his career, this fight with Paul will not be a walk in the park in 2021 as it once would.
For Paul, having legends like Liddell invoke him simply proves that everything he does works. While a lot of people in the martial arts community don’t like Paul, you can’t doubt that he brings eyeballs and money. While fighting old, retired fighters doesn’t help his cause, Paul makes tons of money, just like his opponents. Given that Paul might see Liddell as another “easy” victory, he might be interested in this fight as well, but we’ll see.
