Conor McGregor has teased fans once again about his UFC return after sharing a picture from his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier

Conor McGregor has been out of action since suffering a freak leg break injury against Dustin Poirier in July last year. McGregor was looking to avenge the TKO loss he suffered against Poirier six months earlier.

The fight looked to be heading into an all-out war as both men had their moments in the first round. McGregor and Poirier looked sharp and each landed with lightning fast hands and kicks.

At the end of the round, just as the bell was about to sound, ‘Notorious’ stepped back and his leg collapsed under him. The referee waved the bout off as a second TKO loss in a row for the Irishman.

Conor McGregor has teased fans once again about his UFC return after sharing a picture from his trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier.

“Final shot before bracing on the break. All me. Excited to return and prove my support correct! Marathon not a sprint.”

The injury meant that McGregor would require major surgery, which included a metal rod being inserted into his leg. The 34-year-old has since been out of the fight game but now appears to be close to full fitness.

Conor McGregor is expected to return in 2023 with Michael Chandler, Jorge Masvidal and Dustin Poirier as the bookies’ favorites for his next opponent.

Renato Moicano calls out Conor McGregor following UFC 281 win

Renato Moicano had some stern words for Conor McGregor, after his first-round submission win over Brad Riddell at UFC 281 meant he surpassed the Irishman in the lightweight rankings.

Moicano appeared on Ariel Helwani’s The MMA Hour to discuss his victory and his post-fight speech. Following the fight with Riddell, Moicano cut an uncharacteristically charismatic post-fight promo, which he carried over into his interview with Helwani.

The MMA reporter asked the Brazilian who he’d like next, to which the 33-year-old demanded the Irishman:

“F**k McGregor bro. He’s done bro. Now, it’s my time. McGregor, he did a lot for this sport, but right now, he’s done. That’s the truth. But if he wants to get the smoke, he’s gonna be in trouble because I will beat him. I will beat his a** bro. You can be sure of that.”

The No.13-ranked lightweight added:

“F**king Conor McGregor, of course. I want to fight him bro, but I don’t think he’s going to accept to fight me… If they give me a fight, it would be McGregor or Islam Makhachev, of course, because I want to be champion and I want to be a billionaire, I want to be a millionaire, I want to make money… Moicano wants the money, McGregor has the money, so why not do that fight?”
