Conor McGregor is sharing his reaction to Dustin Poirier's recent photos of his foot after a staph infection

Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier’s Twitter exchange has continued – to the delight of MMA fans.

And now, the Irishman is sharing his reaction to ‘The Diamond‘s recent photos of his foot after a staph infection.

McGregor and Poirier have been going back and forth on social media since it was reported that the Louisiana native was hospitalized due to a staph infection. McGregor had tweeted out that ‘The Diamond’s staph infection is a result of karma, writing in a now-deleted tweet:

“Karma the left paw an all hahaha — chop that thing off and keep it for Halloween pal, hahaha.”

The message was in response to a photo that Poirier shared on his Twitter account, which showed his swollen foot as a result of the staph infection. Poirier didn’t post a long caption, but didn’t sugarcoat it either in his tweet with the gruesome photo, writing:

“Wut da helllll”

If some don’t know what McGregor is referring to in his tweets, there is a popular parody account on Twitter called ‘Mystic Mac Translator’. The account was quick to unravel meaning in the Irishman’s tweet, writing:

“Translation: ‘This is karma for everything that was said about my foot. The left foot as well! Remove your foot and keep it for Halloween.”

Interestingly, ‘The Notorious’ also broke his left ankle in his matchup against Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. He resultantly lost via TKO (doctor stoppage). However, the bad blood that had been there in the build-up to the fight spilled over during the post-fight interviews.

Poirier has since shared an optimistic update that his body is responding to the antibiotics, meaning that he is on the road to recovery and will soon be released from the hospital. It remains to be seen how long the staph infections will keep him from training.
