Dana White gives first-hand account of devastating fires in Los Angeles, gives final verdict on venue for Islam Makhachev - Arman Tsarukyan fight at UFC 311

Dana White recently addressed the situation surrounding the Los Angeles wildfires and the UFC 311 venue. As wildfires rage in Los Angeles, concerns have grown about the fate of UFC 311, scheduled to take place on Jan. 18, 2025, at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California.

The fires have caused significant damage, affecting thousands of structures. Other events, including Rod Wave’s concert and the Trinity-Mission League Showcase, have already been canceled or postponed.

Addressing fans’ concerns, UFC President Dana White stated that UFC 311 will go ahead as planned. Speaking with Jim Rome, White stated:

“No, there is no chance that we move it. We’ll be there on Saturday, 100%.”

White also shared his first-hand experience of the wildfires, recounting the night it began:

“That’s kind of the vibe that I am getting from the people, they are excited to go to the fight, not think about what’s been going on. What’s crazy is I was there the night the fire started. I was actually out there for meetings. And that was the first night and it felt really crazy. And the people that are in L.A., and you are used to seeing all these fires, you know, in Southern California or whatever. It was a whole different vibe and feeling and it’s only gotten worse.”

Despite the devastation, Dana White emphasized the event’s potential to uplift spirits:

“I think it’s definitely gonna be a boost for the people who live there.”
