Daniel Cormier recently revealed details about Islam Makhachev’s training camp in preparation for his upcoming title fight at UFC 280.
Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira will lock horns against each other for the vacant lightweight title this Saturday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates.
Ahead of the fight event, UFC commentator Daniel Cormier revealed in a recent video that Dagestani’s camp had spent “over seven figures” preparing the fighter for his fight against Charles Oliveira.
In a conversation with Brett Okamoto for ESPN MMA, the former AKA trainee said:
“Man, they have been training… those guys have been training hard. They have been in Abu Dhabi for a while. They said they spent over seven figures on training camps, preparing this guy… for this fight.”
Makhachev’s team, according to ‘DC,’ has ensured that the fighter receives the best facilities in terms of training partners and other training facilities:
“They have sent so much preparing this guy for this moment… from the training facilities to the hotel rooms, to the training partners to everything. They have spent a ton of money to prepare this guy for this fight… to ensure that all this are covered. They have done everything to get him ready, and for everything that I have heard… he is as ready as they have ever seen.”
