Darren Till reacted to Khamzat Chimaev showing his soft side during one of the Swede’s recent interactions with a group of children. While ‘Borz’ is justifiably known as one of the scariest men to face in the octagon, the grappling phenom was seen becoming teary-eyed after meeting a young orphaned fan.
A few videos recently surfaced on Twitter showing Khamzat Chimaev meeting some children and young fans at an event organized for him. The Swede can be seen going around the room, handing out toys and shaking hands with the youngsters.
While Chimaev is rarely seen in an emotional state, he was almost brought to tears when he met a young orphaned fan who couldn’t help breaking down in tears upon meeting the UFC star. His friend and training partner Darren Till reacted to the video by quote-tweeting it with a single heart emoji.
Khamzat Chimaev has been out of action since September of 2022 despite his eagerness to return to the octagon. However, the No. 3-ranked UFC welterweight recently stated that he would return after the holy month of Ramadan, which is observed by Muslims worldwide as a period of fasting and prayer.
Meanwhile, Darren Till recently became a free agent after asking the UFC to release him from his contract earlier this month. He last faced Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282, losing to the South African middleweight via third-round submission.
Fans react to a heartwarming interaction between Khamzat Chimaev and an orphaned child
Khamzat Chimaev recently caught fans by surprise when he got emotional after seemingly consoling a young fan. With his emphatic side rarely on display, surprised fans and social media users made their thoughts known in the post’s comments section.
Check out some reactions below:
No.4-ranked welterweight Belal Muhammad appreciated Chimaev with two simple emojis.
One user opined:
“This is beyond beautiful. He tried to show the girl as much love as he could.”
Another user wrote:
“Just my anecdotal experience…it’s sometimes the most outwardly “brash” who are actually soft and emotional inside.”
One fan made a request to Darren Till:
“Darren, tell him he’s the most amazing, kindest man in the world.”
Another user observed:
“Khamzat was so sad there and emotional. You can tell he has a big heart.”
Khamzat Chimaev is undoubtedly one of the UFC’s most feared fighters and his grappling is so effective that no one has been able to deal with it. ‘Borz’ last defeated Kevin Holland at UFC 279 via a dominant first-round submission.
The Chechen-born Swede has since lobbied for a move up to middleweight and recently called for a fight against No. 2-ranked contender Robert Whittaker.
