Xiong won the title in 2018 against Tiffany Teo and has defended it against Laura Balin, Samara Santos, Angela Lee, Teo again, and Michelle Nicolini. Her only loss in recent memory was when she dropped down a weight class to try to take Lee’s atomweight title, but came up short.
Miura, from Japan, rebounded from a loss to Teo in 2020 with a first-round submission of Rayane Bastos in May 2021.
