The Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, USA, has finished the main event of Bellator 257, in which the organization’s champion Russian Vadim Nemkov and American Phil Davis played the quarterfinal light heavyweight Grand Prix bout.
With the start of the first round, both fighters occupied the center of the cage, exchanging sharp blows. In the second round, the opponents continued to adhere to their tactics, acting dangerously and sharply in a standing position. Almost with the start of the second five-minute session, Vadim opened a dissection on his left eyebrow. Also in this round, the Russian managed to inflict an uppercut, after which Phil lost his balance and ended up on the floor of the cage, but Nemkov was unable to develop his success.
The third and fourth rounds were practically no different from the previous ones. Opponents acted actively in a standing position, while there were successful moments both for one fighter and for another. Nemkov also made several takedown attempts, but Davis defended well. In the final round, fatigue was noticeable in both fighters and the opponents increasingly clinched.
