He bagged a whopping $600,000 in post-fight bonuses as he claimed the ‘Performance of the Night’ and ‘Fight of the Night’ as he walked away from Las Vegas with a cool seven-figure purse.

After the fight, Holloway said BMF stands for something completely different following his victory at UFC 300. .

But before he fielded questions from the assembled press, Holloway spoke to Gaethje after being handed a phone by Dana White.

“You’re a freaking animal brother,” he told his UFC 300 opponent during their phone call.

“Stop kicking my leg, you’re such an a**hole for that. You’re the man brother… thank you for taking the fight.”

Holloway has now won three fights on the bounce since losing to Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 276 back in July 2022.

Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show, the 32-year-old revealed what it meant to be fighting for the BMF title.

“You’re fighting for the BMF title,” he said. “None of us are stepping back. We’re just throwing, coming to each other.

“It’s the BMF title. What did you expect? I think it’s understood, especially with Gaethje. I was telling myself, whoever [is winning in] that last 10 seconds, I was going to point down and swing for the fences.

“Just being able to share the octagon with him, he’s a legend. I don’t know if I’m ever going to share the octagon with him again, and UFC 300, the biggest card for probably the next decade, the BMF title – if this is not BMF worthy, I don’t know what is.”

Holloway has options following his stunning showing at UFC 300, but a return to the featherweight division to challenge champion Ilia Topuria appears to be the likely next assignment.
