Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov pleasantly surprised by Dana White's incredible weight loss

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has praised UFC President Dana White for his weight loss after undergoing a strict ketogenic diet.

White decided to change his lifestyle after speaking to Gary Brecka, the co-founder of 10X Health System, a company that aims to enhance human performance. According to the 53-year-old, his bloodwork showed that he had only another 10.4 years to live if he continued on the path he was on.

The UFC president vowed then and there to change his lifestyle and has since been on a strict keto diet for over 13 weeks. The results speak for themselves as Dana White has since revealed on multiple occasions that he has never felt better, both mentally and physically.

In a video uploaded to YouTube, the cameras caught Khabib Nurmagomedov and Dana White bumping into each other backstage at UFC 280. In the video, ‘The Eagle’ joked that White has slimmed down enough to be a welterweight:

“Skinny guy! He don’t send me his diet. I need this. Before I was lightweight and you heavyweight, now I’m light heavyweight, he’s welterweight.”

Although he has dropped significant weight, Dana White has remained on the keto diet. According to the UFC president, he was surprised by how many different alternatives there are and suggested that anyone who’s interested in losing weight should try it.

UFC welterweight Belal Muhammad describes what it’s like being coached by Khabib Nurmagomedov

Despite retiring in 2020, Khabib Nurmagomedov’s legacy is still growing in the UFC today. The former lightweight champion has since turned to coaching and UFC 280 has proved that his tutelage is already a major success.

Islam Makhachev dominated Charles Oliveira and captured the lightweight title in the main event. Belal Muhammad also surprised fans with the way he won his bout on the prelim card.

Muhammad is now the No.4-ranked welterweight after defeating Sean Brady at UFC 280. The most impressive part about his performance was that ‘Remember The Name’ ended Brady’s undefeated streak by finishing him in the second round.

According to Muhammad, it is no surprise that he looked his best in the octagon after being coached by Khabib Nurmagomedov:

“One of the best things that I noticed from it was seeing what he demands out of you. He demands greatness from you. You watch all the shows of ‘Dream Team’ and how Kobe Bryant would go to the gym at 4 AM and it makes the other guys work that much harder. Khabib is the same way. You want to do extra for him, you want to push yourself that much harder for him.”
