The event, billed as ‘Dagestan vs Ireland 2’, will pay homage to the biggest grudge match in MMA history, between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.

Like the two superstars that came before them, this weekend’s headliners have engaged in a brutal war of words, with neither man shying down from the other.

The frosty tensions have been noted by Gilbert Burns, who insists that Nurmagomedov isn’t one to be messed with, revealing that he once had a straightener with a former opponent.

During an episode of the, Show Me the Money Podcast, the Brazilian explained: “A Russian guy competed against Usman. The fight was very close, they gave it to Usman, but they kept complaining.

“They both say, ‘Let’s go fight outside’. They went outside, and they fought bare-knuckle for another 20 minutes.”

Usman Nurmagomedov’s plan to emulate cousin Khabib’s vicious Conor McGregor win in Paul Hughes PFL showdown

When Dagestan and Ireland clashed back in 2018, it was the legendary Khabib who walked away the victor.

Following one of the most exciting build-ups of all time, the all-time great delivered in abundance, dismantling his arch-nemesis, before forcing him to submit with a ruthless submission.

With that in mind, his cousin has explained how he intends to replicate the former UFC champion and destroy his Irish adversary.
