Drake is unloading his wallet ahead of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson.
Drake is no stranger to taking massive risks on and off the mic. Ahead of Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, one of the biggest fights of the year, Drake placed a big bet on the fight.
Paul and Tyson headline a star-studded card in Dallas, TX. Paul is looking to win his fifth consecutive boxing fight, while Tyson is looking towards a potential triumphant showing in his comeback.
Drake is an avid combat sports fan with a history of taking big financial gambles on UFC fights. But, most of his big gambles haven’t materialized, and the ‘Drake curse’ has taken a life of its own on social media.
While Drake’s prediction isn’t an indication of how Paul vs. Tyson will play out, one of the fighters might be moderately concerned about being the latest curse victim.
Drake places a six-figure bet on Mike Tyson to defeat Jake Paul
Drake placed a $355k bet on Tyson to defeat Paul by any method in their heavyweight grudge match. He shared the bet on social media, showing a potential payout of just over $1 million.
Tyson vs. Paul is one of the most betted boxing events in recent memory. Many sports gamblers have their eyes on the co-main event as well, featuring the rematch of Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor.
In addition to his Paul vs. Tyson bet, Drake also placed a massive wager on Jon Jones vs. Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. He predicted Jones to defeat Miocic by knockout for a potential payout of $954k.
Drake gambles on 58-year-old Mike Tyson’s comeback
Paul returns to the ring after defeating Bare Knuckle FC superstar Mike Perry in July. He was supposed to face Tyson on the July 20th card before Tyson was forced out of the fight due to a medical scare on a flight.
Paul has bounced back nicely since suffering his first professional loss to Tommy Fury last year. He’s earned recent wins over former UFC superstar Nate Diaz, Andre August, and Ryan Bourland.
If Tyson is triumphant on Friday night, it’ll be his first career victory since knocking out Clifford Etienne in Feb. 2003. He went on to lose back-to-back fights before retiring after a loss to Kevin McBride in 2005.
Tyson returned to the ring in an exhibition setting against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. The fight went to a draw.
