Leon Edwards shared his expectations for his fight against the brash Colby Covington at UFC 296 this weekend

Henry Cejudo thinks one of Leon Edwards’ habits could land him in trouble at UFC 296.

The leading MMA promotion will conclude its 2023 schedule with a stacked pay-per-view event from Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena tonight, and the stakes don’t come much higher than the main event between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington.

After winning the title and defending it for the first time in a pair of contests with welterweight great Kamaru Usman, “Rocky” is set to face another strong wrestling challenge in the form of “Chaos.”

The pair will share the Octagon on the back of a heated fight week, in which Covington once again stirred controversy with his trash talk. But the former interim champion will look to turn attention from his words to his fighting in what marks his third shot at the 170-pound throne.

“Chaos’ will enter the cage as an underdog, having not competed since a decision victory over the now-retired Jorge Masvidal well over a year and a half ago.

But one of Covington’s UFC peers thinks that part of Leon Edwards’ game presents a clear route to victory for the challenger.

Henry Cejudo Warns Leon Edwards: ‘You’re Gonna Fall Into Colby Covington’s Web…

During a video uploaded to his YouTube channel, ex-flyweight and bantamweight UFC titleholder Henry Cejudo looked ahead to the matchup that will headline today’s year-ending PPV card in “Sin City.”

Despite seeing Leon Edwards get his hand raised over Usman this past March at UFC 286 in London, “Triple C” believes the Brit displayed a defensive habit that could be exploited by a fighter like Covington.

“Leon Edwards’ weaknesses. This is a big one for me, and this is where he’s gotta be careful against a guy like Colby Covington,” Cejudo said. “Too comfortable against the cage. I mean, we saw it with Kamaru Usman in all three of their fights. He tends to use the cage to catch his breather, and that’s a big, big, no-no. You’re gonna fall into a guy like Colby Covington’s web. This is where Colby Covington shines.”

In addition to a potential grappling deficiency, many appear to be pondering whether Covington’s personal fight week insults might hamper the champ from sticking to his gameplan come fight night.

Either way, whether by the expected way or another route, Leon Edwards will be looking to make “Chaos” pay for his comments.
