UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev shared his thoughts on a possible bantamweight titleholder Merab Dvalishvili vs. Umar Nurmagomedov fight.
Merab Dvalishvili came out as the new bantamweight champion after his victory over Sean O’Malley at UFC 306. Being the champion isn’t easy, and title contender Umar Nurmagomedov is already asking for his title shot. The rivalry between both fighters has now taken a serious turn, with lightweight champion Islam Makhachev getting involved.
Islam Makhachev believes that Nurmagomedov will be the favorite of this meeting, despite the fact that Dvalishvili will be a serious opponent for him.
“This fight won’t be easy for Umar, as the UFC champion is hard to beat in any fight. I think Umar will be the favorite, he can wrestle and he has a better punch. It will be a good fight,” – Makhachev told Match TV.
