Controversial YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul recently dropped a menacing trailer for his upcoming showdown with Nate Diaz.
Back in February, ‘The Problem Child’ suffered his first defeat in the boxing ring, falling to Tommy Fury via split decision. A visibly disappointed Paul blamed the loss on a variety of factors, including injury, shortly after the result’s announcement.
Now, Paul is returning to his old stomping grounds of crossover fights with MMA veteran stars. This time, Paul will meet longtime UFC fan favorite Nate Diaz, who will make his first combat sports appearance since leaving the world’s No.1 MMA promotion.
The pair have been bickering back-and-forth for a long time. Back in January, ‘The Problem Child’ announced his signing with the Professional Fighters League (PFL). He suggested that he and Diaz fight twice, once in boxing and again in MMA.
For now, only a boxing bout between the duo has been confirmed.
“Fueled By Retribution” – Jake Paul Posts Intense Promo For Upcoming Diaz Fight
Earlier today, Jake Paul uploaded a trailer for his fight with Nate Diaz to Twitter. The video sees Paul address his recent loss before discussing his rage and need for “vengeance.”
The black and white footage provides a montage of ‘The Problem Child’s training, including shadowboxing, pool work, and weightlifting among other gruelling exercises.
“They thought this would break me,” Jake Paul says. “But it has only made me hungrier. Vengeance heals anger. And I’m filled with rage.”
Considering his recent defeat, and the PFL’s expectations for him in their new Super Fight division, Paul’s clash with Diaz is an absolute must-win. Should ‘The Problem Child’ emerge victorious, he has a large number of options moving forward, from an MMA rematch with the Stockton star to pursuing a second clash with Tommy Fury.
However, a loss here could derail the colorful YouTuber’s rise to combat sports stardom, as well as the lofty boxing goals he has set himself for this decade.
