Brazilian ex-UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo (29-7) assessed the prospects of former light heavyweight king Jon Jones (26-1, 1 NC) in the heavyweight division, and also gave a prediction for a potential title fight with newly minted champion Francis Ngannou ( 16-3).
Aldo believes Jones has the requisite skill set to succeed in his new weight class and defeat Ngannou.

“I’ve always considered Jon Jones to be a big favorite in the heavyweight division. He is fast, he has great wrestling and arm span. He doesn’t have the punching power of a heavyweight, but he has everything else. He fights well and beats any fighter. If he knocks you down, I think it will be difficult for any heavyweight to deal with him.
I respect the champion, a man who has changed a lot since losing to Miocic, but in the fight between Francis Ngannou and Jon Jones, I choose Jones. Against Ngannou or any other heavyweight, I believe in Jon Jones’ potential. “

Note that to date, there is no specific information about Jones’ debut fight in the heavyweight division, but UFC President Dana White recently announced that he and the fighter began to come to an agreement on the financial side of the issue.
As for Aldo, in December last year, he interrupted a streak of three consecutive defeats by winning on points over Marlon Vera and has not entered the Octagon since.
