Khabib Nurmagomedov weighs in on Umar's win over Cory Sandhagen at UFC Abu Dhabi

Umar Nurmagomedov and Cory Sandhagen delivered five rounds of incredible action.

Saturday’s UFC Abu Dhabi main event went the distance, with Nurmagomedov earning a unanimous decision on the scorecards to remain undefeated at an incredible 18-0. Sandhagen, a one-time interim title challenger, presented a significant step up in competition for Nurmagomedov, but the Dagestani shined and eventually outlasted his gritty opponent.

Former UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov commented on top bantamweight prospect Umar Nurmagomedov’s victory over Cory Sandhagen at UFC on ABC 7.

“How much do I rate Umar’s performance on a five-point scale? Four, I think. The fact is that he had a very good opponent. This is the second number in the world, he fought for the title. Sandhagen is one of the best in this weight class.”

I think Umar is ready for a title fight. You never know what’s going to happen in a title fight. This is a very big fight, a very serious competition. The champion in his division is Sean O’Malley. He is a very serious opponent. If the UFC wants to stop you, then Umar is ready,” Khabib Nurmagomedov said during a speech at UFC Europe.
