Leon Edwards claimed that Khamzat Chimaev isn't the unstoppable monster that the UFC has built up to be

Leon Edwards is sounding off on the idea that Khamzat Chimaev is an unstoppable force to be reckoned with in the UFC’s welterweight division.

Edwards recently joined Michael Bisping for an interview on ‘The Count’s YouTube channel, where he spoke about a number of topics related to the welterweight division. While speaking about Chimaev, the reigning welterweight champion claimed that he isn’t the unstoppable monster that the promotion has built up to be, saying:

“He’s a good fighter. {but} I don’t think he’s what the UFC was building him to be, like this untouchable monster…He’s a solid fighter, he’s good, but there’s always ways to beat these guys. This is why I’m on an 11-fight win streak.”

‘Rocky’ added that despite having his sights set on a trilogy with Kamaru Usman, he still has ‘Borz’ on his list. He mentioned that before Chimaev can earn a title shot, he wants to see him successfully make 170lbs again, saying:

“He’s on my list as well that I want to take out…So let him go make weight, probably fight Colby {Covington} or something like that, and we can run that on as well.”

‘Borz’ and the reigning welterweight champion have been linked to a bout in the past, so it will be interesting to see if it comes to fruition later this year.
