At the last UFC 280 in Abu Dhabi, it was hot not only in the octagon, but also outside it.
Judging by the videos that appear on the Web, the Swedish-Chechen fighter of the promotion Khamzat Chimaev almost got into a fight with Abubakar Nurmagomedov when the athletes were talking about something at the cage.
Khamzat Chimaev is in attendance at UFC 280 with Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov’s sons. Their image together has sparked outrage and the MMA community have taken to Twitter to unleash their fury.
Kadyrov is a controversial figure in world politics and is currently in the news for forcibly mustering Chechen men to take part in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. In a post made on Twitter, investigative journalist Karim Zidan identified Kadryov’s sons with the undefeated welterweight prospect. He captioned the post:
“Chimaev is hanging out with Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov’s teenage sons at #UFC280”
The incident happened immediately after the end of the main fight, in which Russian Islam Makhachev, a teammate of Abubakar, defeated Charles Oliveira ahead of schedule and became the new champion of the UFC lightweight division.

It should be noted that the hostility between Chimaev and Khabib Nurmagomedov’s team was mentioned by MMA insider Ariel Helwani.
As for Abubakar, he, as well as Makhachev, also took part in the UFC 280 card: Khabib’s cousin defeated on by the decision of the judges countryman from Dagestan Gadzhi Omargadzhiev and currently he has two wins series.
