Muhammad Mokaev teases the PFL president after the promotion changed their stance on possibly signing him in the future

Professional Fighters League (PFL) president Ray Sefo had previously claimed that the organization is not interested in signing former UFC flyweight fighter Muhammad Mokaev.

However, it seems like the organization has backtracked on that decision.

PFL CEO Peter Murray recently told Sherdog that Muhammad Mokaev signing with the organization is a “real opportunity”. He said:

“I do think the flyweight category is something we will be getting into in the future. I know our guys are looking at it. You look at fighters like Muhammad Mokaev, he’s a 13-0 flyweight from Dagestan. This kid has the second-longest winning streak in UFC flyweight history. He was 23-0 as an amateur. When I look at a kid like that, that’s an opportunity.” [H/t: Sherdog]

He also claimed that Muhammad Mokaev has the potential to be the “future face of flyweights” in the organization. The 24-year-old reacted to Murray’s recent comments on X by taking a sharp dig at Sefo and Head of Bellator Fight Operations, Mike Kogan:

“Ray Seyfo and Mike Kogan crying somewhere.”

Muhammad Mokaev was released from the UFC following his victory over Manel Kape at UFC 304. UFC CEO Dana White didn’t waste time following the conclusion of the event to confirm that Mokaev would be cut from the UFC roster. Most recently, White shed light on the decision claiming that is one of those fighters “that did everything wrong” and “pissed” off the UFC staff.
