Former UFC bantamweight champion, Petr Yan, turned to the president of the largest mma promotion, Dana White, with the idea of his rematch with Aljamain Sterling according to the rules of the cult Japanese organization PRIDE, in which it was allowed to kick in the head of a lying opponent.
Petr Yan also made another taunt to his rival, asking the American if he was ready for retaliation.
Recall that a month ago, Petr Yan was stripped of the UFC bantamweight title due to disqualification, because in the fourth round he misjudged the opponent’s position and inflicted an illegal knee blow to the head. The PRIDE rules allowed such strikes, so that the Russian would have won a legitimate victory.
In a recent interview, Petr Yan’s manager Sayat Abdrakhmanov reported that the Aljamain Sterling’s team are doing best to postpone an immediate rematch.
