Pundit Adrian Clarke suggests Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta could use Kai Havertz in his attacking line against Manchester City this weekend.
After injuries to both Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka, Gunners are in deep trouble at upfront. Arteta will be much concerned about his options as Arsenal haven’t started the season on a high note.
Speaking on the Handbrake Off Podcast, Clarke claims attacking reshuffle in on the cards for Arsenal. The Pundit also suggests that Havertz could be use in the attacking mix against City on Sunday.
The German international could give Arsenal more physical presence upfront. Havertz needs to showcase his real calibre after a horrific spell at Chelsea.
However, Adrian Clarke suggested that idea of using Havertz as a striker and said :-
“It’s an interesting proposal, he did play ok in that game and he can do it and it wouldn’t surprise me. In this game, the way City press and the way we give the ball away against pressing teams, we may have to go longer and if you are to go longer, Kai is your man with Jesus and Trossard coming in from the wings either side, I can see that.”
The idea of using Havertz as a central striker could have give Arsenal for size upfront. The German international can have a good contest with City’s Ruben Dias on Sunday.
Havertz doesn’t carry a goal threat lately as Arteta have used in a different role in this current campaign. Arsenal will have a huge task of facing Manchester City as Mikel Arteta will be all charged up to face his old boss.
