Serbian police have charged “Real Madrid” forward Luka Jovic.
Luka Jovic violated the condition of quarantine in the city of Belgrade. The player was charged under article 248 of the Criminal code. This carries a penalty of 3 months to 3 years ‘ imprisonment.
Recall, that Jovic arrived in Serbia from Spain after the start of the quarantine and had to be in isolation for two weeks. However, a few days after returning home, Luka was seen walking in the center of Belgrade. Although on arrival at home, he signed a document in which he agreed to comply with the rules of self-isolation. The “Real Madrid” forward explained his actions like this:
– In the country from which I came, as well as in Italy, people in quarantine can go out, throw out garbage, go to the pharmacy or store. I thought that in Serbia there are the same rules. My fault is that I did not study the situation better, but I think it is important that the situation and conditions are reported correctly, especially to people who come from abroad. I do not intend to blame the local authorities for my ignorance – I knew that I should be isolated, but I did not know how to behave in isolation. Of course, I am prepared to accept the consequences of my actions.
