Sean O’Malley recently reacted to the upcoming fight between Gilbert Burns and Neil Magny.
Brazilian welterweight star Gilbert Burns is ready to face off against Neil Magny at the upcoming UFC 283 event. The event will be held on January 21, 2023, at the Jeunesse Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
The main event of the night will be the light heavyweight clash between Glover Teixeira and Jamahal hill for the vacant championship. The co-main event will be a flyweight championship bout between Deiveison Figueiredo and Brandon Moreno, which will be their fourth time facing off against each other.
During a recent episode of the TimboSugarShow podcast, the top bantamweight contender and his coach Tim Welch discussed the welterweight fight on the main card of UFC Brazil.
Reacting to the matchup, O’Malley said:
“Gilbert Burns vs. Neil Magny…that’s an interesting fight flying under the radar. Gilbert Burns is always fun to watch… Magny is always f**king surprising.”
Adding to Sean O’Malley’s comments, coach Welch predicted the fight would end with ‘Durinho’ getting his hand raised:
“Neil Magny is a f**king nice dude, too. I feel like Gilbert might end up getting his [Magny’s] back… I think Gilbert might take him down and then Neil [Magny] makes some mistakes getting up, and Gilbert capitalizes.”
