Kevin Lee seems open to the idea of making a comeback to the UFC. The American boldly called out Khamzat Chimaev amidst the Chechen-born Swede’s claims that nobody is brave enough to face him.
‘The Motown Phenom’ tweeted out his brave challenge to the undefeated welterweight, claiming that Chimaev “won’t outwrestle” him.

‘Borz’ is an engima that no opponent has been able to unravel yet. He has dominantly finished every single one of his opponents aside from Gilbert Burns, whom he went the distance with in a memorable fight at UFC 273. With that in mind, many fans and fighters have taken to Twitter to mock Lee’s brash callout.
Former UFC lightweight title challenger Al Iaquinta related Lee to Dillon Danis’ habit of calling out fighters beyond his level:
“Dillon Danis son now.”
@GavinDre27 asked:
“You really feel you could give him a good run bro?”
@NWOHelwani jokingly questioned:
“Is this Dillon Danis account or Kevin Lee? Im confused”

“Hate to say it because of who he considers to be a friend, but that boy will throw you a whoopin. I’m sorry, but all you have is a puncher’s chance in that matchup.”

Kevin Lee opens up about leaving his management team
Kevin Lee recently broke ties with the Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the same firm that also formerly represented UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
According to Lee, the decision to leave CAA was collective in a sense after things got out of hand. The American joined CAA before his failed interim lightweight title bid against Tony Ferguson in 2017.
To many fans, Kevin Lee remains a ‘what if?’ story. The once promising prospect never regained his momentum and was released from the promotion in 2021 after going 2-5 in his previous seven outings.
However, ‘The Motown Phenom’ believes he could have capitalized better on many opportunities if he had better management.
The former UFC lightweight recently told James Lynch:
“Yeah, it’s kind of been a team decision to leave CAA. You know, it was getting a little too Hollywood and it just didn’t benefit my career that much to be with CAA. I’ve been with them since the Tony Ferguson fight and since then I’ve had some big opportunities, but I feel like my career could have been handled a lot better.”
Kevin Lee now fights in the lightweight and super lightweight divisions of Khabib Nurmagomedov’s MMA promotion, Eagle FC. His last fight saw him defeat another former UFC alumni, Diego Sanchez, via unanimous decision at Eagle FC 46.
