Teofimo Lopez offers to train the Diaz brothers if they transition to boxing

The Diaz brothers have a large following and fanbase, and former boxing champion Teofimo Lopez is one of them. Not only is he a fan, but he has even offered to train him should he transition to boxing.

Teofimo Lopez joined Ariel Helwani on a recent episode of The MMA Hour, where he discussed his upcoming fight against Sandor Martin. While talking about the UFC, he offered to train the Diaz brothers, saying:

“You know, Nate Diaz is dope, man. That’s a dog, man. And Nick… I could train them [for boxing] too, man. I’m someone that loves to just teach like the art of man right here, Bruce Lee, he went against his own culture to teach more. “

The former boxing champion also mentioned that he is more of an MMA fan now and watches it more than boxing, which is the sport he competes in. When asked why he watches the UFC more than boxing, he touched on the personalities of boxers being the main reason, saying:

“I’m more of a fan now into UFC than I am inro boxing…Because boxing is fake. All the boxers are fake, man.”

It will be interesting to see whether Nate Diaz takes him up on his offer to train him. The former TUF winner is known for his striking and durability in the UFC, which are qualities that could serve him well in boxing.

He has expressed interest in competing in boxing bouts and has been rumored to be a potential opponent for the likes of Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather and ‘The Problem Child’ Jake Paul.

Who is Teofimo Lopez fighting next?

Teofimo Lopez returns to the squared circle on Saturday night when he fights Sandor Martin at the world’s most famous arena, Madison Square Garden.

The reigning WBO International light welterweight champion bounced back from his only career loss after defeating Pedro Campa via seventh-round TKO. Prior to his first and only career loss to George Kambosos Jr., he was riding a 16 fight winning streak that included a win against Vasiliy Lomachenko.

It will be interesting to see whether he can extend his winning streak and close out 2022 on a high note.
