Paddy Pimblett revealed how much weight he has to lose ahead of his scheduled fight against Jared Gordon at UFC 282 next month.
Pimblett is amongst the fresh wave of young talents emerging from the UK.
‘The Baddy’ is notoriously famous for gaining a lot of weight in-between fights, and UFC President Dana White has stated that Pimblett’s weight fluctuations are detrimental to both the fighter and the promotion.
Speaking about the weight-cutting process for UFC 282 in a video posted on his YouTube channel, Paddy Pimblett expects the process to be a cakewalk compared to the massive weight cuts he has made in the past. It is important to note that the video was recorded when teammate Molly McCann fought Erin Blanchfield in the recently concluded UFC 281 pay-per-view-event.
Paddy Pimblett revealed that the last fight camp for his fight against Jordan Leavitt was the “worst camp of his life” owing to the fact that he had to lose 20 kg (44 lbs.) in seven weeks:
“The last camp was one of the worst camps of my life. Literally I got back from America and I had like seven weeks to make weight. I had like seven weeks to lose twenty kilos and I’ve done it. Where I’m at now, I’ve got like nine kilos to lose and I’ve done more than that overnight.”
Pimblett is on a strict diet regime, planned carefully by his friend and former training partner Joel McCarthy, who keeps tabs on the UFC star’s calorie intake:
“We’re going to go through what Paddy eats in a week. Menu changes each week so that he never gets bored. We usually go for a protein granola bowl before he trains each day in the morning. The other option I use is overnight oats. For his lunch, we go with a cold option which is usually a chicken salad wrap. He’s also got a BBQ chicken burrito on as well. The final meal usually is just pretty similar to his lunch, the macros that he has, but it’s more of a hot meal this one. We’ve got a chilli meatball fusilli pasta, and we’ve got a wagyu burger, 100% beef with sweet potato fries.”

Paddy Pimblett makes a bold prediction for Jared Gordon fight after Molly McCann loss
As seen in the same vlog, Paddy Pimblett was dejected when his teammate Molly McCann succumbed to a devastating first-round submission loss to Erin Blanchfield at UFC 281. After his teammates went 3-0 at Cage Warriors the same day, McCann was thoroughly outclassed by Blanchfield at Madison Square Garden, making it a bittersweet day for the Next Gen fighters.
‘The Baddy’ is scheduled to fight Jared Gordon on December 10th at the T-Mobile Arena in Nevada, Las Vegas. Pimblett is on a three-fight win streak in the UFC, all via finishes. Speaking about the brutal nature of the sport and offering his prediction for the upcoming fight on the same vlog, Pimblett said:
“MMA for you, highest highs. On top of the world. 3-0 in Cage Warriors, three first-round finishes, and then the lowest lows. 3-1 for the night, not too bad, but I promise you now, Jared Gordon is getting finished in the first. Watch!”
