The long-awaited return of Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287

Jorge Masvidal and Gilbert Burns are set to face off at UFC 287.

Masvidal is all set to make his UFC comeback. The former UFC welterweight title contender and BMF champion is scheduled to fight Burns in a welterweight matchup that will take place on April 8th as the co-main event at UFC 287.

The event will be held in Florida, but the venue is yet to be determined. UFC president Dana White made the announcement on Friday evening.

The main event will feature a rematch between the current UFC middleweight king Alex Pereira and former long-time middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.

With the announcement of both the main and co-main events, UFC 287 has become one of the most exciting fight cards of the year 2023.

The long-awaited return of Jorge Masvidal

Jorge Masvidal has been fighting professionally since 2003, competing for Bellator, Strikeforce, and a variety of other organizations.

He owns the UFC record for the fastest knockout in history with a five-second knockout and won the symbolic UFC ‘BMF’ Championship title against welterweight veteran Nate Diaz.

The announcement of the UFC 287 event by UFC president Dana White signals the long-awaited return of the promotion’s superstar fighter Masvidal.

The last time ‘Gamebred’ was seen in the octagon was a year ago at UFC 272’s main event. He battled his longtime best friend turned rival Colby Covington. In that bout, The ‘Chaos’ defeated Masvidal by a unanimous decision.

Masvidal’s supporters have been waiting for his UFC return for a long time, and they are in for a treat come April 8th.
