Johnny Walker walked away with a unanimous decision victory after he and Anthony Smith put on an entertaining scrap in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night Charlotte.
The matchup between the two top light heavyweights followed a number of fantastic finishes throughout the event, and at several points it looked as if things might not make it to the final bell. In the end Smith and Walker did go the full fifteen minutes, with the Brazilian getting the nod from all three judges and earning a clean sweep on two of the scorecards.
Johnny Walker appeared confident that he’d won the fight even prior to the decision being read, and after the final bell he leapt out of the Octagon to go and speak with his former opponent and current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jamahal Hill.
With three-straight wins under his belt after his knockout loss to Hill, the 31-year-old told Daniel Cormier he has his eyes set on a light heavyweight title fight.
