'Triple c [knows]' - Henry Cejudo names 'Most Dangerous Guy' in the Bantamweight Division

Henry Cejudo names the one bantamweight (other than himself) who can dominate the division. Cejudo feels the bantamweight division is about to be put on notice by one surging contender.

Cejudo will return to face Aljamain Sterling for the UFC bantamweight title at UFC 288 in May. He returns following a three-year hiatus from competition after announcing his retirement after a win at UFC 249.

Cejudo is looking to reclaim the bantamweight throne and prove that ‘ring rust’ is a myth. As he returns to the division he once reigned over, the division has become more stacked and talent-rich.

It’s uncertain how long Cejudo intends to continue fighting, but he’s got his eyes on a surging Dagestani.

During a recent segment on his YouTube channel, Cejudo named Umar Nurmagomedov as the dark horse of the division.

“Umar is the most dangerous guy,” Cejudo said. “At 135 pounds, out of all these cats that I see, Umar Nurmagomedov is the toughest challenge for any of them, including myself.

He can wrestle, he can strike, he can box, he’s well-rounded. He’s seen his brother and his cousin win world titles and he wants to be next.”

In a recent tweet, Nurmagomedov thanks Cejudo for the high praise.

“Triple c [knows],” Nurmagomedov tweeted. “Thank so much champ and good luck.”

Umar, the cousin of UFC Hall of Famer Khabib Nurmagomedov, is unbeaten in his professional MMA career. He’s earned recent wins over Nate Maness and Raoni Barcelos to surge into the bantamweight rankings.

Nurmagomedov is awaiting his next UFC assignment after allegedly being offered a fight against Merab Dvalishvili that fell through the cracks.

Nurmagomedov, like Cejudo, has elite wrestling to frustrate his opponents. He’s also developed into an impressive striker, as evidenced by his recent knockout of Barcelos.

Cejudo has fought some of the top flyweights and bantamweights of all time, and he feels Nurmagomedov has what it takes to be an all-time great.
