Tyson Fury showed his support to Khalil Rountree after his brutal defeat to Alex Pereira.
Rountree was looking to dethrone dominant champion Pereira at UFC 307, but came out seriously beaten as he was battered and stopped by KO in the fourth round.
After the fight, Rountree’s face was covered in blood and markings with the Brazilian having put in a seriously powerful display which left him with several injuries.
The light-heavyweight contender has since posted full images of his facial injuries, which show a series of bloody gashes which will require stitches after the fight.
Rountree’s eye was also swollen shot with a huge gash above it, and it will now likely put him out of action for several weeks.
And former two-time boxing world champion Fury has reacted to the shots, writing: “We don’t play in the fight game.
“We are all warriors of the modern day.”
The ‘Gypsy King’ himself is no stranger to some brutal injuries, including his huge cut against Otto Wallin in 2019.
He was incredibly able to fight through the cut and win the fight, despite being restricted in the clash.
Unfortunately, Rountree was unable to survive until the final bell, and was on the receiving end of a huge shot which sent him crashing to the canvas.
It was certainly no disgrace losing to ‘Poatan’ who is seemingly dealing with some of the division’s best fighters at ease.
And he admitted as such after the final bell, insisting he did all he could do but simply came up short.
“My thoughts coming into this fight was just to be grateful really,” Rountree said.
“I’ve been doing this for a long time and I was really excited to come in here and I really embraced the moment…
“I don’t think I was surprised [by him] at all. I thought I was going to be able to hit him a lot more.
“But he did a really good job at evading the punches and counterstriking.
“I’ll never forget this moment Salt Like City. You guys have been so f***ing awesome.
“I love you guys, I swear to God, I’ll be back one day.”
