“Following an investigation conducted by the UEFA ethics and Discipline inspectors in connection with the so-called Super League project, a procedural case has been initiated against Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus for possible violations of the UEFA regulatory framework. Further information will be provided in due course, “ UEFA said in a statement.
The organization of the Super League was announced by 12 clubs, but then nine of them withdrew from the project.
Real Madrid, Barca and Juve continued to believe in the project. According to media reports, they can be suspended from participating in European competitions for a period of two seasons.
