UFC CEO Dana White took to Instagram live this past Wednesday evening to promote a live Power Slap event and during the live, the UFC boss teased that fight news regarding some of the promotion’s biggest stars is imminent.
Not long ago, Dana White told the media that Conor McGregor wouldn’t fight before the end of the year, despite both him and Michael Chandler calling for their fight to be rescheduled for December.
The Irishman then took to social media to detail his frustration, recently tweeting on X ‘When I get free’, claiming that the UFC is delaying his return.

‘The Notorious’ has seemingly worked his charm on the UFC brass as this past Wednesday, White took part in an Instagram live video, in which he revealed there will be news regarding McGregor’s return soon.
“We talked about Conor today. We got Conor news coming up,” White said live on Instagram.
The boss’ comments pleased McGregor who replied with a cheeky wink face, implying that he is happy with the outcome of the talks.
However, McGregor fight news wasn’t the only thing White teased, as he went on to state that he will also have news regarding Charles Oliveira and Alexander Volkanovski.
“Oliveira vs Volkanovski? We’ve got some news coming out for both of those guys too real soon.
“We’ve got Conor news coming up, we’ve got (Charles) Oliveira news coming up, we’ve got (Michael) Chandler news coming up, we’ve got Max Holloway news coming up, all that good sh*t coming soon,” White continued.
Michael Chandler sends a message to Conor McGregor
‘Iron’ Chandler has been waiting on the sidelines for his fight against McGregor for several years now and he has shown few signs of deciding to move on from it.
Chandler believes that if he decided to move on from the potential fight once and for all, the UFC would offer him another big fight instead.
“Yeah, I could’ve taken another fight, I still right now could call the UFC and say I’m done with the Conor thing, give me another fight and they would do it. When it’s all said and done if this is a hill that I die on and it doesn’t work out well for me at least I was a man of my word,” Chandler said in an interview with Beat The Heat.
Having said that, the 38-year-old all-action fighter is still confident that his fight against the former two-weight world champion will get re-booked, with White’s recent comments reinforcing that.
“I’m not ever gonna play the victim… With all due respect, I’m ready to put you behind me. I’m ready to put you flat on your back in the middle of the Octagon wherever it is, hopefully, Las Vegas, Nevada, and I can walk out of that Octagon and never have to think about you again, I can just ride the coattails of the eyeballs that were there that night.”
Charles Oliveira teases his return fight will be at lightweight despite welterweight rumors
Former lightweight champion, ‘Do Bronx’ Oliveira was another fighter White teased will have a fight announced very soon.
The fan favourite teased following his UFC 300 loss to Arman Tsarukyan, that he is considering moving up to 170lbs for his next fight after Colby Covington called him out.
Despite that, the 34-year-old recently posted on his Instagram that he is training hard ahead of his imminent comeback, hinting that the fight will be at lightweight, not welterweight.
“Family, I’m dying to fight and I know you all want to see me fight. I’m hoping my fight will be coming soon and I’m counting on all of you to support me. I’m doing my part by training. Soon the lightweight lion is going to hunt,” Oliveira stated.
After his recent win at UFC 305, Dan Hooker called for a fight against the Brazilian, with that fight now making a lot of sense considering Hooker is now ranked in the top five and they haven’t fought each other before.
The New Zealander stated that he wants to fight at the end of the year, despite the promotion’s rumored return to Australia in February as his wife is due to give birth at the beginning of next year.
