UFC confirms Conor McGregor vs. Michael Chandler clash, pair set to coach on upcoming TUF season

Conor McGregor is finally set to make his highly anticipated UFC return after Dana White announced that the Irishman will feature in the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF).

‘The Notorious’ will coach against fellow lightweight star Michael Chandler and the pair will eventually face each other in the octagon later this year. ‘Iron’ has been leading the charge to face the Irishman for some time and looks set to have finally agreed the most lucrative fight of his MMA career.

“Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler are the next TUF coaches, and they’ll fight later in the year, Dana White just announced.”

Ariel Helwani also confirmed that the season will run between May and August, with Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler set to headline a Pay-Per-View in September.

“The season runs from May to Aug. Last I heard the hope was for them to fight in September.”

It has yet to be confirmed whether the bout will be fought at either 155lbs or 170lbs. During Mcgregor’s recovery from his legbreak injury, the Irishman has recently been sporting a bulky physique with claims he is pushing 200lbs.

The weight likely won’t be an issue for Chandler as ‘Iron’ demanded a fight with McGregor back at UFC 274 where he stated he was willing to face the Irishman at any weightclass.
