The fight between the cousin of the UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, Umar Nurmagomedov and the fighter from Kazakhstan Sergey Morozov has been postponed to January 20. This was reported by the TASS news agency, referring to the team of the Kazakh athlete.
As a reminder, this fight was originally scheduled to take place on January 24 at UFC 257, which will lead the rematch between promotion superstar Conor McGregor and former interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier.
Considering that Khabib plans to be a second in Umar’s corner, which means that he will be in one of the locker rooms along with other card fighters, the promotion’s management decided to minimize the conflict between Nurmagomedov and McGregor’s teams by moving the above-mentioned fight a few days earlier.
Note that 24-year-old Umar Nurmagomedov is already the third from the extensive Nurmagomedov family who managed to join the roster of the strongest MMA promotion on the planet. Umar Nurmagomedov’s record in mixed martial arts has twelve victories and zero defeats. Throughout his career, Umar fought under the banner of three promotions: Fight Nights Global, PFL and GFC. In the latter, he became the champion and was able to successfully defend the belt three times.
