Ciryl Gane warned MMA fans not to expect the same style from Francis Ngannou at UFC 270: “I’m going to win against Francis Ngannou and I’m going to be in the top”
Ciryl Gane (10-0 MMA), the current interim UFC heavyweight titleholder, and Francis Ngannou (16-3 MMA), the current UFC heavyweight champion, are set to meet in a title bout on January 22.
This long-awaited fight will be the headliner of UFC 270, and the winner will leave the Octagon as “the dangerous person on the planet.”
Gane vs. Ngannou is an interesting match for several reasons. Firstly, ‘Bon Gamin’ has a graceful punch, while ‘The Predator’ is known for its crushing knockout power. Secondly, this couple are former friends and sparring partners.
Having known and trained with Francis for many years, Gane has a good idea of what to expect from the Cameroonian in January 2022 year.
“I think Francis did a lot these last years, and he probably improved and he’s more intelligent. And that’s really great. He’s really well rounded now, and I think it’s going to be more like that. Because he knows I can manage the power. I think he knows I can manage the power. So maybe he should be a smart fighter this day [when we fight].”
Gane continued:
“I’m going to manage the fight. I’m going to win after five rounds,” Gane said when asked for a prediction. “Maybe before (I win) with a submission or something like that, why not? Why not?
“I’m going to win against Francis Ngannou and I’m going to be in the top, the ‘baddest man in this world’ after just three years in MMA. That’s really crazy. That’s wonderful.”
