According to Combate, the UFC 261 tournament, originally planned for Singapore, will be moved to Las Vegas. The main event will remain unchanged. The champion in the women’s minimum weight (up to 52 kg), China’s Weili Zhang (21-1) will make a second defense of the title against the former champion, American Rose Namajunas (9-4).
According to the president of the organization, Dana White, if for some reason Namajunas is unable to enter the fight, she will be replaced by the 4th number in the rating, American Carla Esparza (19-6).
Both athletes will enter the cage after a solid downtime. Zhang defeated former Polish champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk (18-4) by split decision at UFC 248 in March. Namajunas took revenge on Brazilian Jessica Andrade (21-8) at UFC 251 in June.
