Analyst for Bellator MMA believes that Conor McGregor would lose to Tony Ferguson for one reason

Conor McGregor appears to be edging closer to a much anticipated UFC return following his brutal leg injury sustained at UFC 264 in July 2021. ‘The Notorious’ suffered a broken leg and has been in recovery for almost a year and a half.

Rumors of a return bout against Tony Ferguson have emerged, and former UFC veteran and Strikeforce champion Josh Thomson believes that ‘El Cucuy’ would be victorious if the pair fought. Thomson, who is currently an analyst for Bellator MMA, pointed to McGregor’s leg injury as the main reason for his assessment.

He believes that McGregor’s movement and kicking game will be affected by the injury and will hinder his performance. During an episode of the Weighing In podcast, he said:

“I actually think Tony [Ferguson] beats Conor [McGregor] though. A lot of it comes down to the leg. He’s slowed down too. But Tony’s funkiness will give Conor some problems. Switching the stance, the punches and kicks from different angles… I’m gonna lean more towards Tony.”

Conor McGregor has teased a role as one of the coaches for the upcoming season of The Ultimate Fighter. Several days later, Tony Ferguson claimed that he had been offered the chance to feature alongside ‘The Notorious’ on TUF.

However, no official announcements have been made by the UFC yet.

Jorge Masvidal believes Conor McGregor has declined to fight him

Jorge Masvidal has claimed that every time the UFC wants to book a fight with himself and Conor McGregor, the Irishman declines the offer. ‘Gamebred’ believes that McGregor has no interest in fighting him.

Masvidal recently spoke to Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour and shared the reasons why he believes McGregor won’t fight him.

He said this:

“I want Conor [McGregor] but Conor doesn’t want me. It sucks, he just doesn’t want it. Everytime the UFC brings it up, he shuts it down. I don’t know why. I think I’m bigger, I think I’m quicker than him. We both know that I hit harder than him. So I get it. It’s not the best for him or his brand.”
