Cody Garbrandt trains with Khamzat Chimaev and team in Dubai - Video

Cody Garbrandt seems to have found himself a new training partner. The American is looking to get back to winning ways after just one win in his last six fights.

‘No Love’ is currently on a streak of two losses, with his latest defeat coming against Kai Kara-France in December last year. In a recent video shared by Khamzat Chimaev on YouTube, the former UFC bantamweight champion was seen training with ‘Borz’.

Chimaev, Garbrandt, and their teams were in Dubai training for their next fights. ‘No Love’ is looking to make a return against Julio Arce at UFC 285 next year. ‘Borz’, on the other hand, does not have a fight finalized. Following their grueling training session, the former champion said:

“A lot of Chechen [and] Dagestanis [people] bring a lot of different styles, so it’s good you know. You know they set up a good wrestler, a good grappler…tough. It’s been great coming here, learning, growing. I just landed a fight so it’s good to get different looks and jump into camp.”

Cody Garbrandt is looking to resurrect his career and become a title contender in the division again. The man that dethroned Dominick Cruz was unable to find his form after suffering back-to-back losses to TJ Dillashaw.

Who is Cody Garbrandt’s potential opponent Julio Arce?

Cody Garbrandt is set to step foot in the ring after more than 12 months away. His last fight came in December 2021 at UFC 269 when Kai Kara-France secured a first-round win via TKO over ‘No Love’.

Garbrandt then got COVID and was adversely affected by the virus, which slowed down his recovery and his return to the ring. However, he is finally feeling fit to return and is rumored to face Julio Arce.

The potential fight is rumored to take place at UFC 285 in March of next year. His opponent, Julio Arce, has a record of five wins and four losses in the UFC.

However, with an impressive debut victory over a tough opponent in Dan Ige, Arce is no pushover. Moreover, Cody Garbrandt will need a dominant performance against whoever he fights next if he wants to re-establish himself in the division.
