UFC President Dana White still hopes to persuade the organization’s lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov of Russia not to end his career.
According to the head of the organization, there are many interesting options for the representative of Russia now. One of them is a duel against the Canadian George St. Pierre, but in this case, Khabib will have to leave the title, but there are others that will allow him to remain in the champion status. For example, a rematch with Irishman Conor McGregor or a fight against Brazilian Charles Oliveira.
“I think the fight against George St. Pierre is possible only after he renounces the title. But he can fight one of the other guys. I mean Conor McGregor, it’s not a problem if he beats Dustin Poirier. Charles Oliveira is in a good position right now. There are guys who have proven themselves well, and a fight with them makes sense. It all depends on what he plans and what he thinks now, ”said Dana White.
