UFC chief Dana White said Jon Jones could fight for the heavyweight title this year if the rematch between Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou takes place this spring.
Jon Jones is a former light heavyweight champion and is considered by many to be one of the greatest fighters in MMA history. Last year, “Bones” volunteered to vacate the 205-pound belt to move higher and try to win another title in their second weight class.
“We know what Jones wants,” Dana White told TMZ Sports. – “He wants to fight the winner of the fight Stipe and Francis, so we must first have this fight.
But it has to happen this year, “White added, referring to Jones’ heavyweight debut.” It all depends on whether we get to fight Stipe and Francis this spring. If that does happen, then Jones could fight the winner this summer. “
