‘The Legendary Polish Power’ Jan Blachowicz does not see Jon ‘Bones’ Jones ever returning to competition despite teasing a long-awaited comeback.
Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz is scheduled to face top-ranked contender Magomed Ankalaev in the co-main event of UFC 282 on Dec.
10 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. He goes into the bout looking to get back on the winning column and cement his status as the top contender after dropping his title to Glover Teixeira in his latest outing in Oct. 2021 at UFC 267.
Jan Blachowicz says Jon Jones will never return to fighting
In a recent interview with James Lynch of Middle Easy, Jan Blachowicz shared his thoughts on the long-anticipated return of Jones to the octagon.
“I don’t believe that Jon Jones will come back to fighting anymore. I think that he’s so afraid to lose that he will do everything to not come back. Because everybody saw the time when he dominated our division completely. After a couple of years, everybody started catching up to his level. It was very hard for him to dominate in fights, like with Dominick Reyes, it was a very close fight.
“Everybody who fought against him, it got closer and closer in each fight. I think he started to feel he is not that good anymore, that we started to grow and catch up to his level and finally someone could stop him. I think the reason why he don’t want to fight is that he’s afraid to lose.”
Since then, Jon Jones has authenticated the claims of moving to the heavyweight division and has been dedicating his time to attain the proper frame and competency for the heavier weight class. ‘Bones’ has also been persistently chasing a fight against Stipe Miocic, even going as far as to claim that the former two-time heavyweight champion is delaying the matchup.
