UFC middleweight Kevin Holland, one of the biggest discoveries of 2020, will fight veteran Derek Brunson on March 20 in his first main event under the auspices of the world’s strongest MMA league. Although Holland is happy about this event, he believes that he could have gotten a stronger opponent.
“It just pisses me off that my first main event will be a fight against Derek Brunson. I mean, it’s a good story. It’s cool. Everything here is amazing. We had some fun on the Internet. I enjoy being my opponent. But at the same time, Brunson? He’s a gatekeeper. Derek is a year older, he just recently celebrated his birthday.
If I beat Brunson, there will be 1000 excuses why I did it. Main event against an opponent with no excuses? That would be awesome. The main event in which I beat Brunson, and immediately after that 1000 excuses will appear? Eh, cool, ” – Kevin Holland told MMA Junkie.
