According to MMA Junkie, citing sources close to the situation, former interim UFC lightweight champion Tony Ferguson will have his next fight May 15 at UFC 262 against compatriot Beneil Dariush.
Recall that at the moment Ferguson (25-5 MMA, 15-3 UFC) is going through the worst period in his professional career. This is the first time Tony goes on a losing streak that spans two fights. In May 2020, El Cucuy was brutally beaten and then finished by Justin Gaethje, after which he was unable to do anything with Brazilian Charles Oliveira, who won a dominant decision victory at the UFC 256 event.
Beneil Dariush (20-4-1 MMA, 14-4-1 UFC), on the other hand, is now more successful than ever. Beneil has not lost six matches in a row, four of which he completed ahead of schedule. In the last fight in early February, Dariush won a split decision victory over Diego Ferreira.
