Former UFC lightweight champion Petr Yan has signed a contract for a title rematch with the current title holder Aljamain Sterling. The Russian fighter announced this on his Instagram page.
“@ufc UFC 267 bout agreement signed. Time to return what’s mine. No games with my prey this time ? ⚡️ The fight will take place on October 30 in Abu Dhabi ???? let’s go ???” ,- wrote Petr Yan.
Recall that the first fight between Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling took place in March this year at the UFC 259 . The fight was stopped in the fourth round, when the Russian struck a prohibited knee blow, after which the American could not continue the fight. As a result, Yan was disqualified, and Sterling was recognized as the champion.
The rematch could have taken place earlier, but Sterling underwent neck surgery, which caused him to delay his return to the octagon.
