Umar Nurmagomedov reminds Henry Cejudo of the time he got carried by Merab Dvalishvili in front of Mark Zuckerberg.
Umar Nurmagomedov is currently in the line to fight Merab Dvalishvili for the UFC bantamweight championship. Recently, he visited Henry Cejudo and Kamaru Usman’s podcast. During the conversation, all the fighters got indulged in a hilarious discussion which ended up poking fun at the former double champion, Cejudo.
Henry Cejudo previously faced Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298. It didn’t bode well for Cejudo as Dvalishvili dominated the Olympic champion on the ground. In a recent podcast, Usman questioned Umar Nurmagomedov about his opinion of the best base for MMA. In response, the Dagestani threw a subtle jibe at Cejudo over his fight with Dvalishvili.
“It really means personality too. Merab, combat sambo right? And he has taken down an Olympic champion many times.” – Umar Nurmagomedov via Pound 4 Pound Podcast
Everybody started laughing hysterically because Cejudo was embarrassed about talking about the fight. During the fight, Dvalishvili picked up ‘Triple C’ and carried him to the other side of the octagon. The Georgian slammed Cejudo in front of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who was there to support the Georgian fighter.
It was truly a wild moment that went viral on the internet. No one has attempted to humiliate an Olympic gold medalist like that in the UFC. Since that fight, Dvalishvili has now established himself as the newly crowned bantamweight champion of the world.
The Georgian fighter maintained the same dominance against his opponent, Sean O’Malley, at UFC Noche to capture the belt.
