Former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman ended with a grisly leg injury in a rematch with Uriah Hall at UFC 261 in Jacksonville, Florida.
The very first low-kick inflicted by Weidman was met with a hard block, as a result of which the American received a terrible fracture of his shin already in the 17th second of the match, repeating the fate of his opponent Anderson Silva, who was carried out of the octagon on a stretcher eight years ago.
For 36-year-old Chris Weidman, who has won just two wins in eight fights over the past six years, injury could be critical and put an end to his career.
In a post-match interview, Uriah Hall, who did not hide his disappointment, wished his opponent a safe recovery, and also promised that he would definitely give him revenge if the former UFC champion can recover and return to the octagon.
