Latest Manchester City news as Paul Pogba posts message on social media during City’s Manchester derby with Man United
Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba has been linked with a surprise move to Manchester City after mutually agreeing to leave Juventus.
The former France international left the Italian giants at the end of last month meaning he could sign for another club as a free agent from the start of next year.
Pogba will be allowed to start training in January after an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced his four-year ban for doping to 18 months. He will then be able to start playing again in March.
Reports this week have claimed that City are considering making a move for him after Pep Guardiola’s problems in midfield this season. Rodri remains out with injury and the absence of the Ballon d’Or winner has led to a number of midfielders being linked.
The move seems very unlikely at this time for a number of reasons but City’s desperation for a new midfielder in January could see the 31-year-old make a return to Manchester.
During Sunday’s Manchester derby, Paul Pogba broke his silence with a somewhat cryptic message on social media. Wearing a black, yellow and green shirt with a Brazil emblem, he wrote: “Determination is the strength that turns dreams into goals and obstacles into opportunities.”
The comments of the post are flooded with replies by Corinthians supporters. The Brazilian club are one of the teams said to be considering a move for the midfielder, though reports in Brazil have played that down.
